    It matches the comic perfectly, but that whole style seems odd to me.

    I just read about the plot and I didn't know the above scenes are really only part of it. Not the central story throughout.

    The Dark Night returns was a 3-part series, and the above is clips from the first one. The second is when the Joker comes back, the last his showdown with Superman.

    It's amazing how much the series has impacted the Batman mythology when you consider it was published what, 20-25 years ago? Writers have emulated the tone ever since.

    I still have my old comics with this story line the art looks very similar.

    I will check this out but will probably be let down if they cut out a lot of the original plot. The original *four* part mini-series is an awesome read, Frank Miller don't shiv.

    i can't get into robocop playing bruce wayne/batman. that is my only complaint though.

    I saw this near the end a few months back on Cartoon Network and wasn't sure what it was. Good thing for DVR. Rewind and saw it from the beginning. Enjoyed it.

    heard the animated movie is just gonna be 2 parts

    That seems probable, as DC has been skittish about Superman appearances of late; I suspect they'll drop the entire Superman role in the story.
