It's funny, I have actually heard several reports from well respected owners on s2ki saying the car actually drives more stable with less rear toe in (closer to 0), which would negate a majority of the premature tire wear.

Anyway, the car is like a Civic maintenance wise except it needs diff fluid every 20 - 30K, burns a little oil (although I have a freak that does not burn any oil) can wear soft tops where the metal rubs, and chews through rear tires if you have toe in.

I love reading people comment about this car that have never driven it, or have a little experience, it cracks me up. I think that is what keeps me coming back.

Feels like a Civic DX below 6K is my favorite, love it! Except for the shifter,, the xenons, the gearing, the seats, the sound, the driving position, the steering, the powered wheels, the clutch, oh yes, just like a Civic DX.

By this logic, driving a Ferrari 360 below 5000 RPM is like a driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Only on the interwebs.

I would actually love to own both. I would probably daily R and enjoy S on a nice sunny day.
I dont get why the same individuals go out of their way to bash VW. We get it, you hate the brand.
Even funnier the die hard S defender never set in the car, nor did they ever own a VW. Their parents hand them a ****ty american wagon, then the wife made them buy a Camry or Prius.

Unfortunately both cars are getting extincted. Ricers and dubbers are killing these cars by the minute.

Nah...there are plenty of clean Mk4 R32 out there. Many of them with low miles as well.

(Just don't bitch about the price)

I won't say "made of glass", but the AP1 didn't have the beefiest drivetrain. The clutch sucks on both models.

S2000 is not a 1995 Civic DX that will "run forever". It was produced on a small scale and it has some flaws.
Replace the straps with the one's from modifry and you won't have that convertible top problem.

I have an 05. Only issue is annoying clutch buzz. And the drive train is glass if you add anymore power to the equation. Aside from that it's pretty trouble free.

They're very small hatches. Not very practical. And somewhat unreliable.

You don't have to remind me that I'd be owning a brand that has made more performance cars than Volkswagen ever has. Sup Brah?

I daily drive an S2000, and have for over 2 years now. It currently has over 132,000mi on the clock and runs like a top. The top is original with no tears or yellowing of the window (and it's not garage parked). The only thing I have had to replace on the car since I bought it was a starter. I also replaced the radiator, but it was aftermarket from the PO and was under warranty. I was very worried about DD'ing it when I was considering it, but after a test drive I decided that the joy of driving this car far outweighed any complaints I would have. Life is too short to relegate your favorite car to "weekend only" duty. Two years later I feel the same way. I watch S2000 videos at night once in a while and can't wait to drive it in the morning - no other car has done that for me. Same with driving home from work. Put the top down and take the long way home through the neighborhoods... this car is awesome wound out, but you do not have to drive it like that to enjoy it. I have not owned an R32, but I have driven one - and it's a great car... but it will never compare with the S2000 to me. If OP does not need to haul **** around all the time, this should not even be a question. Or, even if he does...

I take pictures of it all the time. Can't help it
