Found these PVC vinyl, UV treated for sun protection, door edge guards on Ebay.
The seller specializes in aftermarket auto parts and they are easily installed on the
Beetle. They are long enough to run the full length of the door edge and mold themselves
perfectly to the two crease areas (one high, one low) on the door. There is a sticky
adhesive built into the channel and they really look neat and oem'ish when installed.
I went for their black since my Beetle is black, but they state that other colors are also
available. The price was $8.95 plus $1.95 shipping and they can be seen on Ebay by
plotting in the number 110588016085. Other door edge guards I have used in the past
always had a problem when you were dealing with a door edge that abruptly changed
direction. These really contour themselves to fit our door edge well and at 1/4" X 3/8"
don't have a big overlap. They are exactly as they appear in the seller's photo.
