Just asking but did you lubricate all points that need to be. I have seen new calipers with no grease on slide pins before. Any missing hardware that went unnoticed? If reman calipers it is possible that brackets could be worn where pads sit

hey all, I cant believe I'm here asking for help after ****ing up a simple brake job. Alright so heres the low down, I just threw new calipers & carriers, pads and rotors on my 98 a4(quattro).
She's developed a metal on metal knocking on the front passenger side that sounds as if the rotor is flopping around. It increases in frequency and volume as I accelerate and goes away when I get on the brakes. also happens more frequently when I turn to the right.
...and don't say its a bearing or arm. I jacked her up and checked for wheel wobble, play in the control arms and yes I installed it on the correct side
I appreciate any help guys this ****'s got me stumped![]()

Check the clips that hold the pads in place. If the pads are a sloppy fit and the clips won't hold them, you'll get some knocking.
