hey guys and gals! so I've been seeing this girl for about 2 months now but have yet to take her on a legit "date" I was thinking a nice laid back restaurant downtown but don't know of any. and we are going to the fair tomorrow so that's off the list. so what are some good restaurants downtown or in the Portland area? maybe other date ideas? let me know! date is tonight!

I should add that neither one of us are of drinking age! haha. and she's a vegetarian. except fish. she eats that. I think that classifies as pescetarian but not the point. thank you for the input!

    Portland City Grill or Saltys
Do it right or do it twice.

Bags and wheels don't make show cars. Ingenuity and originality are lacking in the scene.

    Portland City Grill? Salty's?

Bleh. I guess if you want regular non-interesting food but I've had better from a food cart. You want her to think you put some effort into finding a good restaurant.

OP, WW has a decent restaurant guide. You need one as often as restaurants come and go in this town...

I'm not a vegetarian so I can't point you in any other direction other than maybe Pok Pok...

I'd say Mama Mia, I think it's down on 10th and Washington. It's a little spendy, like $10-$15 a plate. It's an Italian restaurant, so vegetarian friendly. Good place. Closes at 7, so make reservations

And any broad you have to "impress" by spending money on dinner for, isn't worth your time. A good one will appreciate the fact that you found something she was interested in rather than overpaying for a view.

Yeah, I think Portland City Grill may be a little over the top for a first date at your age. Its more an an anniversary or birthday place. Picnic honestly isnt a bad idea, I think anything you do that shows you put thought into it will win you points

Hit up the food carts. You can pick up good food and walk down by the waterfront. Hang out in the shade and people watch.

you guys are awesome hahaha just got off work. ok so yeah she would be more than happy with watching shark week and a pizza as long as it was us hanging together. its me who wants to do something nice for her because she deserves it. she also sat by and watched me destroy 48oz of rare prime rib. so she's not a hipster vegetarian it just upsets her stomach to eat it.

I think that's a little to far haha. around a olive garden price would be comfortable.

I second Montage. Good food, decent pricing, and the tinfoil leftover sculptures are pretty awesome.

tads chicken & dumplings has other things than meat lots of veggie options for example their smoked salmon fettucini alfredo is AMAZING!! you can sit right on the outdoor deck right on the sandy river. it's a very romantic little place you wont be dissapointed, she will be surprised you found such a nice place with a nice drive to boot. after that drive up the highway a few miles to Vista house @ crown point and check out the view of the whole gorge or stare at the stars and let whatever happens next just happen.

the montage is great but for a first date it might be awkward for her to go eat at a resturaunt under a bridge with bums all over the place. it's a strange little place but the food is great.

so I think I'm going to try all these places you guys have suggested! I appreciate it very much. I picked her up with flowers, and made reservations at a lil Italian restaurant called "Ristorante Roma". and played "first date" by blink 182 on the drive. it's off Washington by that church. food was really good and excellent price. like 45 bucks for two dinners a appetizer and desert to share. we then walked the waterfront and on the way home stopped at a arcade! successful night. thank you again everyone.

    Produce Row Cafe.

Near Montage, but better parking and seeting is not shared.

They make a awesome vegie burger. Made in house, not just a frozen store bought one.

They have a cool outside eating area as well as inside.

Prices are good, and open late. Have a full bar though you cant get it yet.
