Any other way to get the Work Shop Code other than by the window stickers on the dealers lot?

Trying to Swap ECU's and have the PIN / SKC obtained from my Vag Tacho. I need the WSC but this car is a 2002 and is from the east coast. I dont know what dealer it came from. Any way to obtain the WSC from the dealer or a scan? I have a registered Ross tech for the Swap!

You don't need the WSC if you got the PIN via VAGtacho.

It says you do Via the Ross tech website. On step 6 of this link. Are you able to somehow bypass this step?

What's the likelihood that the VAG-Tacho in CA is a clone?
I would suspect high.

That's easy.

Since we are answering questions without scans posted today.

Wizard holiday I guess.

Write down your 14 digit Z# on your physical radio or get from your scan with VCDS supported 0x56 ID screen or sometimes in blocks.

Request at your local dealer with valid ID and VIN #. Most do it for free, some charge a fee.

Don't forget to check the service book or trunk area, maybe you get lucky with a sloppy PDI lottery ticket containing the pin.
