Hi everyone I have the Garmin navigation App for the iphone-one of the special features is that it can display the app on the screen of certain compatible navigation units in cars. It lists the Kenwood DDX as an example. Then it says to refer to the owners manual of the car radio to see if its compatible-I cant find any info in the manual on this at all-and the Garmin site has no list. Does anyone know anything about this, I would just buy it and try it except that its a 24.99 option. Thanks
I thought I was all smart because I thought of that feature/enhancement on my own. Its got to be the way forward so you can keep up with the latest GPS features and I see no reason why it could additionally use the audio too.
I doubt the RNS-315 or RNS-510 are compatible but perhaps a future version can.
Personal I just went out to 2595-LMT-HD (looks like a costco exclusive). The mount conveniently works on the lower middle part of the windscreen and I've been happy as Larry.
Admittedly the wiring (required for the awesome traffic features) sprawled over the center console is not ideal but it doesn't interrupt driving and the cabling can be easily gather into the compartment under the media console and the GPS easily snapped out and hidden in the glove compartment when not in use.
