Thread: First oil change - synthetic too soon?

  1. 08-17-2012 06:03 PM #1
I have a (used) 2011 Yamaha Fz8 with 700 miles on it. The shifting is very notchy so I did a fair share of Google'n and it seems as though its normal for a bike with those low of miles. An oil change is what most said would fix it.

I later found out that the bike had a oil change and he thinks it was done with synthetic. I read in another forum that you should wait (two) changes before going to synthetic. My head hurts - should I dump the synthetic out, put SAE back in and run it for a while or is it too late?

there are no hard and fast rules with any of this stuff. i think you'll be fine, you're not going to damage anything.

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty, and if its speed dropped, the bus would explode! I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."
