    good turbo setup?

    I have an 88 GTI w/1.8 head and ABA bottom end. Can anyone give me some ideas of good turbo setups that have worked with this combination?

    solid or hydro head? Got any parts already? it all really depends on your power expectations, I've had success with a t3, megasquirt, on a JH block, it's all in the management, get a megasquirt with timing control, if you run low boost, you won't have to change a lot, but if you start raising boost, you will need more expensive parts.

    Don't skimp out on the headgasket, trust me I know, and get some head studs (arp) and don't forget to re torque them after a heat cycle, trust me I know...

    What are your goals? Are you planning on swapping an o2m tranny?

    This has been covered numerous times. Google search all the build threads on vwvortex, or read through the multiple giant 8v turbo threads.
    I really suck at smog.
