I was filling up my tank this morning and i met an instructor, steve meenan and he invited me to do some track events with his porsche club:

My question is, does anyone on this forum have any experience with this club and if so do you enjoy your time at the track with this club ?

yes,i went to two of their events back in the early '90's. i stumbled across a Harrisburg area race once,and i just watched to get an idea what was going on with that type of racing; it was fun.
i participated in an autocross event at Willow Grove AFB in 1991/2?. i had a well-modded '84 GTI at that time.

the only thing that rubbed me wrong was immediately after the last car left the starting line (i was the very last car out) everyone took *all* of the parking spots up with their cars,tires,tools and gear~i had nowhere to park up after my run...so i just exited the track area and headed home .my last run was really fast,too.i always kinda wondered if i had a trophy coming my way for that run;guess i'll never know i wonder if it was an 'age thing',and the fact that i wasn't a regular club participant? i think i was one of the youngest guys there (mid-20's) ,other than some of the children of the club members.
one really funny thing that happened was a local police cruiser (Chevy Caprice) stopped in to give the track a run~ he lost all 4 hubcaps inside of 25 seconds

I am currently an RTR member and everyone is really nice, outgoing, and knowledgeable. I would say go for it. The events are always a great time.
