Thread: H2O 337/20th/GLI GTG

  1. 08-18-2012 09:04 PM #1
So I looked at the official listing for GTGs at H2O and I'm not seeing anything for us. Lets make this happen guys! I wont be down until late Friday night so I'm thinking maybe sometime Saturday or Sunday.. What does everyone think?

I'm down. I wouldn't mind having something to do Sunday night when everyone is normally winding down anyway, but I'll show up whenever it is.

I organized this last year. There should still be a 3/2/G listing posted by meechelle in the Official GTG thread. We piggy-backed off of the general MK4 GTG last year. You're free to take over the planning, just make sure you call the owners of the venue that you plan to use in advance and ask for their permission to use the property.

I think we just got lumped in with the MKIV GTG, looking at the consolidated list. I'm cool with whatever.

Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of interest in doing a separate gtg so I say we just all meet up at the mk4 gtg and park together as best we can. I just know that will be a massive gtg!! I'm going nuts waiting!

*edit just noticed thats at 7 Friday, unless it goes late I wont make it If we can get more than five people interested I might be able to look into venues for lets say Sunday for the afternoon

Let's get this $hit planned. How about Saturday at 7pm somewhere?

We need to get this on the Consolidated GTG List

If you can stir up more interest and help to get a location I would appreciate that! I don't want to see this flop if we're put onto the official list ya know?!

I would prefer Friday night! Thats when everyone is parked up in GTG fashion

Saturday night is when everyone hits the clubs or lines the street for pics.

I don't remember there being anything at the Mk4 GTG for 32G last year but that might explain why the dedicated 32G one was kind of lame.

Let's go for it not being lame this year. Would everyone prefer to just piggy back the Mk4 meet and have a 32G corner?

Maybe make sure to invite MK4 .:R owners as well? That's what I did. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I tried to organize the 3/2/G presence last year, and it was in conjunction with the MK4 GTG... so it wasn't really anything special. To be honest, there wasn't enough interest or traffic in this forum to warrant a separate GTG. You can count on approx. 50-60% of people that say they're down to come to actually show up.

Yeah, the GLI will be fully broken-in and the boost will be turned up accordingly. I may have my lady friend drive the .:R down, too. She seems to like to drive it over her Saturn.

Let's just piggy back the Mk4 GTG. Maybe we could plan to start "ours" 15 minutes earlier or something and steal a row(?)

I really doubt I'll make this... 45th street and Convention centers lots on fri/sat nights are where I'll be. Plus daytime cruising. Hope to see some of you out there...

I'm totally in for a GTG, piggybacked or not.

  26. 09-17-2012 08:46 PM #26
I think the best thing to do is a piggy back like flatturbo said, see if you can get there early enough to designate a corner/row or whatever. Does anyone know how long the mk4 gtg usually goes until?

I've actually never been to the Mk4 one. I guess they last as long as they're worth staying there. I'll plan on being there 20 minutes early or so and hopefully we just end up with a big section of bright-colored Mk4s
