plug the intake port where the pcv goes in... run the hose hose from the valve cover line, and
the hose from the top of the oil cooler to the the 2 ports of the catch can

im preparing to install the 42dd ultimate catch can into my 1.8t. i just had the emissions written out of the software. While reading through the various DIYs for catch can installations, i noticed that people are setting up the cans diferently. Some people attach a hose to the valve cover where the problematic "Y pipe" is and the other hose connected under the intake manifold. Other people are attaching the hose to the TIP. Im confused which hose goes where, and can i use the eurojet pcv hoses.

Ok so then the pcv valve gets removed? Which port does the hose from the valve cover hose go to on the catch can, I would think the top port

NO.
The 42DD catch can doesn't vent to atmosphere. if you run the hoses that way they are both pumping air into the can with no place for it to go.
He has to T the block breather and the valve cover together to the lower port and run the output hose from the upper port to the hockey puck on the tip.
