I hope you will help me, because you have more digi dashboards in US, than we have in Europe
I'm from Poland and own '85 Coupe quattro (it was rebuild, converted from RHD to LHD, etc), for a spare parts donor I bought '87 Coupe GT Special Build. There you'll find a full photo story - if you are interested: http://audicoupe.pl/index.php/galeri...uattro-od-2010 (web page is in polish, but pictures don't need words )
But... back to the main topic.
In CQ (2.2 KV engine, K-Jetronic) is a standard analog dash, in GT (2.3 NG engine, KE-Jetronic) was digital dash.
I guess that pinout for my engine should look like this (pages 20&21): http://kvquattro.com/digitalDash.html
I thnik, that this is a manual from 2.2 KX engine 115bhp, with KE-Jetronic, but signals are the same in KV.
But, in CGT Special Build pinout is a little bit different. Differencies are related with signals from ECU, air sensor plate potentiometer and rev counter - so everything connected with Board Computer (besides rev counter). All other connections are the same.
So my question is - Can I put digital dash from NG to KV/KX engine - is the unit the same? only have to adjust pinout to KX engine (as shown above in the link)?
There are differencies:
Pin 1 - Brown cable in NG, connected to ground - in KX it should be vacant
Pin 3 - green cable in NG, connected to 10th pin of ECU - in KX vacant
Pin 4 - green-purple cable in NG, connected to 30th pin of ECU and 17th pin of ABS control unit - in KX it should be red/black/yellow from hall sensor (rev counter)
Pin 10 - vacant in NG - in KX it should be yellow-black from air sensor plate potentiometer
Pin 23 - vacant in NG - again in KX, black-red from fuel enrichment sensor
Pin 28 - white purple in NG, then turns to brown-red and multiplies i.e to ECU - in KX the same color but connected to air sensor potentiometer
Pin 29 - vacant in NG - in KX green to air sensor potentiometer
I don't want to burn this thing, so I have to be 100% sure
Thanks in advance for your help. I'll be grateful.
