Edit: I meant we'd post cars that just kept getting better with facelifts and were perfect after the last changes.
My vote goes to the 928. I think they just made it better and better, with the very last GTS model looking modern still at the time the production ended. What was it, a 17-year production run.
Found this, too. Looks great even with modern wheels.

I've always thought early Acura designs, specifically the 4-doors.
Favorite of mine is the Vigor Sedan... it has proportions and athleticism not unlike the E38 7-Series.
The interior looks particularly timeless, clean & simple- similar to an NSX

LOL, thread fail.I didn't mean what cars look good now, but what cars got better during their production run (due to facelifts). Oh well...

Very nice example, son. The 928 is a beautiful car that aged very nicely throughout its run.
Too lazy for pictures, but i nominate the c4 corvette. I personally like the early ones and have a thing for mid 80s cars. But i cant help overlook the fact that by the end, although it was getting a bit 'dated', the design was cleaned up to a nice degree and the powertrain choices kept up with the times.

Yeah, the bottom is a non Type-S but Honda/Acura road going high revvers was perfected in 2005. The 2005 received Type-R camshafts, intake snorkle and full exhaust (after the header and minus flapper in muffler). Revlimit was set at 8300RPM and could be bumped to 8600RPM via Hondata.
That was the last 2+2 (2+?) Honda/Acura ever made that could handle such engine thrashing and it was the last good looking Honda coupe.

RX-7. Perfect lines, clean design, well balanced, full bodied with a hit of apricot.

Such a clean design. I loved them when new and I still love them. Try finding a clean original one though. Always surprised me that Mazda didn't do a coupe based on the 6.

I know there are people who disagree but the newer the Countch the better:
It just looks more "fleshed out."

at intro, the E65 was awful:
by 2008, it was much better looking, and I'm a huge fan of these mesh wheels.

I also thought the 996 was UGLY at intro:

The Jaguar ad at the bottom of the page had another good one. As the first "modern era" Jaguar, I thought the XF was a great effort to modernize the brand while still keeping its image, but it wasn't perfect.
Then the refresh came and fixed the one glaring flaw that the original had: that bulge in the headlights.

The Bmw 2000cs. Elegant coupe shape with an awkward nose when introduced.
Later went through a redesign with different and longer nose with a design borrowed from Bmws new e3 sedan, a new engine and re-named the 2800 cs, it suddenly was one the most beautiful coupee around.

The Lotus Esprit is a good example and I totally agree. It didn't even look tacky like some cars that keep getting refreshes although they should already be moving to the next generation.
This is sorta marginal and some people will probably not agree, but...
The '80s 911 looks very "'80s" now with the accordion bumpers, etc., while the 964 still looks really modern. Also, the 964 is just cleaner overall and thus brings the legendary 911 bodylines out better.
