If your going for 1.5 I'd go with lowering springs, I owned a 2005.5 Jetta before I had my GTI and I was satisfied with the drop that I got from just springs. If you want to go really low and you have the money I'd then suggest buying coils.

For a 1.5" drop lowering springs are all you'll need. The bug will hit you and you'll want to go lower though. So I'd suggest getting a quality set of coilovers right from the start![]()

Just get H&Rs or FKs and call it a day. Buy coilovers because like someone stated, you will want to go lower. You can also adjust the height of coilovers for your needs.

If it sounds like sarcasm, it probably is.
