that can work for most applications. but I really want to get a bright red carpet in my car.. so if you want a non OEM color you'll have to go the ebay route

I installed one a few weeks back from www.mtmfg.com. It was a complete pain in the arse to cut all of the holes out etc, but now it's in I'm pretty happy with it.

I think if I were to do it again, I would try the 2-piece pre-cut ones from Newton. A bit more expensive and will probably take a bit longer to get to the US from the UK. I was quoted $375 shipped from Newton for the carpet + sound deadening kit, which is exactly the same price as I paid for the mtmfg carpet with matching floor mats.

Price is NOT that bad on UK site, could be a better.

So If I go that route, which one do I need to get? There are two

    GOLF-RABBIT MK.I CABRIO MOULDED CARPET SET-LHD
    GOLF/RABBIT /CADDY MK.I 2 DOOR SALOON MOULDED CARPET SET-LHD

    Both are 201 US +/-

That was my quote just a few weeks back. The 86 pounds shipping is the killer.

Damn, $105 US in shipping? That's absurd. No way I am spending 400 on carpet

I just got a red from Newton. Beautiful condition, scary easy to install, and well worth the money. Spring for their sound insulation pads too. What a difference! If you're going to spend the money to do it, spend a bit extra and do it right

Any chance you could post some pics up of your carpet? The door edgs etc if you could?

Did you need to cut it at all?

    Thanks!
