I have been having a starting problem with my 1990 Volkswagen jetta 1.8L. Prior to the car not wanting to start,i was getting it to start. Before when it was starting i drove around for awhile, then came home and shut it off. Awhile later i tryed to start it and it wouldn't start. I then let it sit overnight. The next morning i tryed starting it and it started. So i think letting it cool down helped. The same thing happened off and on over a year. Now it completly doesn't want to start.Recently i tested the starter by jumping it and it cranked the engine. Then i tested the ignition cable with a test light and there was power going to it when i turned the ignition on. Can it be that the neutral saftey switch went bad,and not giving enough power to the starter?Could it be something else that i am not knowing?
Thanks
