I posted before about having this random switch in the engine bay and it turns out that it's supposed to be attached to a bracket like in this picture (front of the pump holding the throttle cable):

What bracket is this? What engines/cars did they come on? The bracket on my 82 looks different and doesn't have a place for the switch. I'm trying to un-ghetto the car as much as possible and this is one of the last things left.

    *edit*
And this is the switch that's just hanging out in the bay that's otherwise supposed to be on that bracket.

I know what the switch is and what it does, I need to know what motor that bracket comes on so I can put it all how it's supposed to be.

You should be able to steal that bracket from any diesel Mk2.

all i can tell you is one came on my 85 turbo diesel jetta.

and the bracket is actually 2 pieces. the main part on the right which has a couple holes so that the smaller l bracket on the left can slide in and pin itself in one, then be bolted to the pump and stay put in the other.
