not serious... but I'd say... probably at least a 60mm spacer is needed, if not more.
Not a great way to stress your bearings.

I have a mk4 Jetta and I want to put wheels that are 17x9 with a -12 mm offset, I kno I will need adapters but what size? I want the wheels to poke a little and I'll be doing a medium stretch with the tires.
Please be serious because it's important and yes I have done research and went through the archives.
Can't seem to find anything on making negative offsets fit

You'll need negative mm adapters. But you need to time travel to order them.

Best answer ever.
For the first reply in this thread, no, 60mm will not work, because then the offset will be -72. Not gonna work. Negative offset and MK4 cars do not go together...
I can't find the picture to describe what this looks like, but your wheels will have some serious poke. I mean like a Jeep Wrangler.

not gonna work in any sort of way at all

Ok how about 19x8 +32 what size adapters for a little poke and what size tire to use that will give a nice stretch
#8
you need an offset higher than like 40 for adapters on a mk4 on a 8 wide wheel

15mm in the front for 19x8 et17 will sit just about perfectly flush in the front (you'll be using 215/35/35) and 20mm for the rear, since you said you wanted a little poke.
