It would be more or less a daily driver with a little bit of fun. I'm trying to figure our all that I'd have to do to make it applicable.

Cutting up the front end as well to make it fit.....and the improbability drive from Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy

If you actually accomplish this you will be the first.....Good luck and excuse my sarcasm.....too many times this Forum has seen people talk about these swaps without finishing it

Once again, Good luck and Kudos if you do it

Give this shop a call I've been told that they have done a vr swap.
    (303) 432-8989 They should be able to help you out.
    Good luck

On a Fox?! I call shenanigans....pics or it never happened

Dont forget about sourcing a longitudinal transmission to bolt up to the VR6

I haven't seen it but I've been told about it by a couple of people.

    Thanks!

I've done some research, and it will require a hell of a lot of custom fabrication. The VR motor should fit in the bay, but the trans will not even closely fit so that will have to be cut up and custom made ( mounts and trans area ), then we've got the front end being ridiculously heavy. I was talking to a few people about the possibility of an e30 rear into it. That should distribute the weight a little better and even give it a rear wheel drive capability. I'm also worried about the front end not being able to operate properly.

I'm looking into this mainly because I'm starting to realize that parts for these cars are becoming harder to find. Not to mention a VRT would be amazing in such a light car. Great track use

Why bother with a VR6 when a 1.8t will fit in our engine bay, bolt to a stock transmission and have more potential? Custom motor mounts get the motor in the bay... everything else after that should be do able with OEM parts besides the exhaust portion.

Since when does a 1.8t have more potential than a VR6? VRT puts out WAY more power than 1.8t.

    I called them and they haven't done a VR6 in a Fox. They've done quite a few 20v 1.8t swaps, but never a VR6 in a Fox

I knew it. Shenanigans. A 20v 1.8t sounds crazy...and probably expensive just like the vr. I'll just stick with good ol cheapie 8v's of trustworthiness!

ditto. plus they are easily built to 120-130 hp, which is plenty fun in a light FWD car with no limited slip.

Sorry for the misleading. It just what I've been told. Good luck with your project.
