Thread: Syncro rear wheel hubs? Need info.

  1. 08-20-2012 11:22 PM #1
So is the rear wheel hubs different between the 68mm and 72 mm wheel bearings?
Are the wheel hubs for the 68mm bearing the same as any other ones?
Like from the front of some other VW car?
Could and where would I be able to buy a spare set of hubs?
All these questions pertain to rear disk only 4x100 cars.
    TIA

Get the hubs off of a quantum from up north. A few junk yards have them. You have to machine the fronts.

The 68 mm hubs are fox ft hubs . They run fox ft brgs as well . the 72mm hubs have the same spline they can be milled down to fit .

If you have the 68mm bearing ( cast control arm ) then you use fox hubs and bearings, if you have the 72's ( later non cast control arm) you can use mk3 hubs and wheel bearings. I know this for a fact because I just had to figure this shiz out for my car. If you have the 72's you can also install vr6 hubs and vr6 outer cv joints with mk4 rear discs for a 5 lug conversion.
