I picked a pair of hid 100w12v H11 fog lights, they are yellow 3000k. Are they safe to install? Been reading thay may or may not melt wires and the housing, and blow fuses? Anyone have any experience with these?

I guess the right question is why you need that much wattage. It's going to piss off on coming traffic and my guess is yes that is going to get pretty hot.

It might not blow the fuses but over time these wires will become very hot and the insulation will become brittle and the insulation will fall off. Stick to 55W in the color temperature you like.

    HID are not 100w

you'll be melting the connector with them.

Light Output is not proportional to power. So, it won't be nearly twice as bright as a comparable 55W yellow bulb.

You will get much more heat output than light output.... and all that heat will affect the immediate wiring & melting the connector itself.

If you want brighter.... H9 bulbs. Remove a rib from the connector housing on the bulb. 65W and almost double the output of a H11 bulb. Heat increase is minimal.
