I've recently been experiencing some weirdness with my fuse panel.

2 months ago my 89 Cabrio wouldn't start. The engine turned but there was no fuel delivery. I replaced the fuel pump relay as well as the in-tank transfer pump and it did not remedy the problem.

I took it to my local vw shop and was told that my fuse panel was the problem.
I was told that some of the high amp harnesses warp due to heat. The mech was able to fix the car without replacing the fuse panel but he said the problem would surface again.
Well it returned last night and finally got the car to start after fiddling with the harnesses on the back of the fuse panel.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Sounds like you need to replace it, or to take it apart and clean the bejeezers out of it as you have some corrosion issues.

If you haven't replaced your grounds now would be a good time to git-r-done.
Grounds, Grounds, Grounds Replace them things.
Divorces, Great Coffee, and Electrics, all start with GOOD Grounds.

    Where are my grounds ?

This happened on my mk1 GTi, turned out it was water getting to the back of the fuse panel due to rust beneath my windshield.
