I would ask your township/city or the people who laid the pesticides.
What they used, how much they use, type of dog, weather, etc all will play a role in how safe the grass is for pets. Hard to answer over the internet.

We moved to a new area, and a lot of the common grounds were recently (the past day or two) sprayed with pesticides. We have no yard (sucks), so these common grounds are their bathrooms about 4 times a day. The lawn people put up little flags advising no kids or pets on the slightly-too-green-to-be-natural grass, but how long should one wait until it's 'safe' to let dogs go in the treated grass?
I read a bit online about possible increases in cancer, wiping their paws off if they walk in the nasty crap, etc., but didn't find any real timelines.
Thanks

I apply the Scotts lawn care program at home. Some of their products require watering immediately after application and say it's safe for humans and pets once the lawn has dried. Take a look at the grounds next time you walk by, if you can see little granules of fertilizer, keep the pups off.
