I just got back from a 10 day trip to Europe and I am having issues with my Gage Cluster thats on my 2000 Golf 2.0 8V AEG. The car has not been driven or started the whole time I was away. But now, I drive my car and the BREAK light starts beeping and the cluster turns off when I drive in excess of 5MPH. If I slow down under 5MPH it turns back on. However, the BREAK light is still on. The time and milage is still on but everything else turns off. No REV, MPH, TEMP, nor FULE is showing. Just like the key is out and the car is parked. I did drive through a massive rain puddle a couple days ago, thats when it started. I had a similar issue in the past but that was due to the fuse box on the battery. The wires that ran from the fuse box to the battery weren't completely connected.
Any ideas? I will get the battery tested tomorrow morning just to make sure I have a good charge and the alternator is running fine along with an OBD II scan. In the meantime, any help is amazing!
