Some of you might already know me by this car.

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...stinker-thread.

Well, I ended up buying a b4 wagon to daily. Here are some pics:

    The day I bought her

    and now

The car has some little rust issues and a water leaking issue that i have yet to figure out, but other than that the 350,xxx mile motor runs like a champ.
I guess I'll be updating this with questions as i venture deeper into the passat world.

    Looks good. I'm guessing TDI?

What did you do to lower it? Spacers in the rear?

yup it's a tdi. as for lowering, i put on some bilstein struts with 80mm lowering springs and 15mm drop caps in the front. i believe the back are 60mm springs and a 20mm spacer.

Are your corner markers functional? They look different than my nonfunctional Depos.

    Are those 16"s? Offset?

they are functional but it looks like the amber plastic fell off, or some kind of lens fell off. The wheels are 15's but i have no idea what the offset is. i've had them for years but never looked.

i guess i can ask this here. my wagon leaks water pretty bad on both sides of the floor whenever it rains hard. i can see water getting behind the headliner right at the front coreners and then the water comes out right in front of the doors. i have checked my sunroof drains and they are not clogged. i noticed that when the windows are up and i close my door the sunroof hops up a little bit. i'm not sure if that is normal or not. does anyone know common places that these suckers leak water around there or common pieces that fail allowing water to drain this way?

It could possibly be the window seal?

wouldn't it come through the door then? following the trail it acts exactly like it has bad sunroof drains but they all check out. i just don't know what else to look into.

Your roof may be out of adjustment. There are some PDFs online that show how to properly adjust.

sounds like a window, seal if u have checked the drains for the sunroof. the seal around the windshield does and will shrink from weather, but make sure your drain lines are pushed up on the sunroof ends also. also make sure under the hood there is no trash in the drainage area there too. hope that works, car looks good man, passats look dman good with porsche d90s!!!

Agreed! Any shots that show the offset from wheel edge to arch? What thickness adapter?

wow. i haven't updated this in forever. anywho i have since installed coils and gave my gf her wheels back. two nights ago my car stopped shifting into gears. when the car is off it shifts fine (obviously). my first thought was that it was the slave cylinder. replaced it and had a hell of a time bleeding it. finally got it to feel right, fired the car up and all seemed fine. when i backed out of the garage it got stuck in reverse and i was back where i started. i tried to bleed the damn thing again and the fluid was super foamy and i couldn't get all fluid. i'm really hoping i don't have to replace the master because they are way more expensive than i wish lol.

i thought this pic looked cool

aaaaaannnnnnndddd my mk2 at h2bro for good measure.

Well the passat has been off the road for about a month now but i finally got it back on the road. man was i sick of bumming rides to work. any who i ended up breaking my clutch. unfortunately for me i went through the process of replacing the slave and master cylinder first because i couldn't get them to bleed without the fluid being really foamy until i replaced them both. after i finished that up, the car still wouldn't shift and the clutch wouldn't disengage. time to drop the trans. this all conveniently happened right before the holidays so i didn't really have time to do it for a while. but man are these trans' harder to squeeze out and in than my mk2 lol.

back one is the og clutch fork. it seemed bent and i thought that could be my problem

    but then i found this

the coil from the spring broke off and wedged between the pressure plate and clutch. the clutch looks like it is the og clutch too. if that is the case i am very please because the car has 355,xxx mile on the damn thing.

    happy maiden voyage!
