Thread: Corrado Manual to Automatic Swap

  1. 08-25-2012 08:31 PM #1
Hi, since it is so hard to find a automatic corrado, I have been thinking of buying an manual and have it switched to automatic. Any one have success with that? Around how much would a project like that run me and is it worth it?
    Thanks!

Why??? A rare automatic is only more valuable if it is factory auto. Maybe. Why would you take the fun out of a car and put in a horrible tranny? Cross-eyed albinos with one arm and 8 toes are rare, but not valuable.

I don't care how "rare" an automatic is, you'd still have to put out the cash to swap it to a decent tranny. And none of those auto trannies of those years are worth it.

Now sticking a DSG in either of those cars would be interesting.

If I am understanding DSG correctly, it will give you the 5-speed feel but keeps it automatic?

Ehh its also extremely complicated and needs a lot of supporting electronics. Not worth it.

Either of those cars in the links look reasonable

Some reason, that looks like same car, only with different headlights, and painted rims. Same mileage and same place of sale. Oh yeah same asking price.
