I'm not sure on the factory code. i went to the local BAPS paint supply and it was listed as 2002 volkswagen "platinum grey." i believe its one of the 20th AE or GLI colors but i could easily be wrong.

and also thanks for all the kinds comments, it really is what keeps me going.

well i didnt actually get to touch the car tonight, but as soon as i got off work i drove about 2 hrs away to pick up some new kicks for it. i know theyre not exactly VW friendly, and trust me theyre only temporary. But for the price i really couldnt go wrong.

      anyways, here you go!

oh and for some disappointing news..
theres no way this'll be at H2O.

if you see a loud ass white mustang cruising around with a big shocker sticker on the back windshield, please dont hate! thats me and my pops.. just know that theres some german enthusiasts in that american muscle. feel free to give the shocker at us as a shout out. haha

      enjoy!

i would suggest obd2 swap and united motorsports software since it's plug and play but you'll need a trigger wheel for the crank. i guess you could use digi1 but i have limited knowledge on that, i do however have a harness and ecu. i'm not a mk2 guru but i don't know of anything you can use with digi2 to make it run properly.

to be honest im not very educated at all with the electronic part of these engines. i do know that my car runs digi2 right now, but im not sure either on what software could make it run properly. if i can make it run just as good with digi2 then i dont think ill bother switching to obd2.

      time for some research

and thanks for the help, its alittle more assuring knowing that theres a few locals that might be able to answer some questions for me.

actually there are quite a few people in the area who are very knowledgeable on the subject. i did a little search and this thread looks to be the most informative on the subject. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ht=digi2+turbo
like i said, either digi1 or obd2 is the way to go. i have a digi1 ecu and harness i'd let go for next to nothing or hit up zeb and i'm sure he can score you the obd2 harness and ecu from coover for pretty cheap. feel free to ask if you have any questions cause i've done a few different wiring swaps and am more than versed in the ways of obd2 turbo setups.

pm me about the harness and ecu and maybe ill come check it out. im leaning on digi1. and yeah zeb is a good friend of mine, he might actually sell me his ecu and harness since he has bigger and better plans for his car.

      thanks alot man!

most people that see or hear what i do or just even talk to me dont belive im only 17, which i think is weird because im pretty sure i look younger than i am,
      oh well

on another note, my engine is still at the shop. the engine builder said this is the worst time of year for them
but he reassured me that it should be done VERY soon!

not a problem, some ppl start very young , i started at 16 myself, 12 years later i'm still doing it and making a living off of it, the greatest part is its not work, because i love what i do, keep at it and before you know it you won't need an engine shop you can do it yourself good luck with the build, i'm staying tuned

i know ive slacked alittle on updates but i assure you i havent been slacking on the car. i picked up a digi1 harness and began swapping them out. as i unplugged the digi2 harness, i plugged in the matching plugs on the digi1 harness.

when i had the digi2 harness completely out i looked at what i had left. the digi1 harness has a few more little plugs than the digi2 so i started matching up. i figured out two of them but i cant seem to find any place for the last 3.

can anyone help me out with this?

Colors in order from left to right: orange/white, purple/black, blue/white

if there are any digi1 guru's out there PLEASE help! im going to do some other research to try to figure out what these are. as soon as i know i can start the wire tuck

      Thanks for reading!

Digi 1 sucks, I've been down that road. To the point where I was making my own files, burning chips and could never get it to run right.

Went ms1 with spark and haven't looked back. Ive got a ton of info if you want to pm me for the specifics.

im eventually planning on ms but i cant seem to find a setup even relatively close to what i can afford at the time. the digi1 was local and didnt cost me much at all so i figure even if it doesnt run well at first, itll be some good practice with wire tucking. atleast until i can afford standalone

id have more updates, but im still waiting on the engine shop to spend the whole 2 hours to put the IM shaft bearings in.

At the very least make sure you get a 16v specific file, as they run way less timing due to a more efficient head design. Running a 16vt with an 8v timing map is a good way to put pistons in your oil pan.

I'm the smoke for tits dude lol I also run ms1v3 with spark on my vrt Corrado. I've played around with g60's with chip tuning on digi 1 and I would definitely go with something a little more sofisticated.
