Wurstkuche. Gourmet sausages, belgian beer, ok music. German-style bench dining. Rattlesnake sausage and gator too!

This place is not in Downtown, it's actually in Silverlake about 8-10 minutes from downtown considering how bad traffic is.
But if you don't mind going out of the way 10 min then I strongly recommend this place as well. The food is GOOD! I used to be a frequent customer since I only live about 3 minutes from there.![]()

I'd recommend Orochon for ramen (Daikokuya is too crowded), Phillipes or Coles for french dip subs, Wurstkuche for sausages, Bottega Louie for a date night, and Bar 107, the Falls, or Seven Grand for drinks![]()

very late to the party here, but...
pizza: pizzanista on 7th mateo. owned by 90s skate legend salman agah, and conveniently located next to tonys saloon, an awesome bar. cheap slices, awesome people.
around the corner:
beer/various food: little bear. great beer selections, great burgers. recommend the meat loaf grilled cheese sandwich. not a pocket killer but can stack up if you keep ordering drinks.
across the street from little bear: church and state. great french cuisine. def a little pricier.
across from wurstkuche: pie hole.
great pies (durr) and coffee. good people watching spot, too. 5-6 bucks a slice.
same block, around the corner: new york snow (inside district bbq).
flavored frozen milk block, shaved ice style, with toppings. they're opening up the highland park one soon. not expensive. bonus: district has pitchers of japanese beer. weird combo, but can fulfill group needs.
ill post more soon.
pre-apologies for the flood, I've lived in the area for 5 years and am a big eater.
