I have been having an issue with the transmission banging into first when coming to a stop. I have done some research and found a lot of other people are having this issue. usually when doing some spirited driving. Mines happens just when I have been driving for a while in stop and go traffic. id say after about 45 mins to an hour or driving. I have read that an after market reflash can remedy this issue and that Audi has known about this issue but has yet to issue any kind of fix. Am I asking to much for a 50k vehicle not to do this? Why is Audi sitting on their ass on this? has anyone else just said screw it and reflashed their DSG?

I'm sorry you are having issues, I went 6MT due to the issues I have had with every DSG car I have driven/owned, I had an 08 R32 which had the mechatronic replaced and I never got rid of the shunting feeling in low speed traffic when the car was warm, I have had several loaners an A3 TDI with DSG and a mk6 golf that have not changed my opinion, but of course these are all 6 speeds so a different box than your S-Tronic. I have issues with inability of DSG to make smooth progress in slow moving traffic and the multiple gear downshifts.

I hope they take care of your gearbox. Usually they reset the computer and it works perfectly for a while after that, hopefully they don't have issues deeper than that, clutch packs etc.

im thinking an aftermarket reflash may be the only solution. It could be worse I guess.

*UPDATE* Audi has finally addressed this issue with a (wait for it.....) and updated reflash. we will see if this truly fixes the issue.

    Good to know.

I know if I'm shifting and click into 1st coming to a stop (car is still rolling) it does bang into 1st. Car jerks when I do this too.
