For Sale:
1987 VW Scirocco
Supercharged 2.0 16v
I purchased the car in 2006 and immediately fell in love. I daily drove the car until it ended up in a minor front end collision. The damage was all cosmetic only and no frame damage was found! After acquiring new bumpers, lights, hood and fenders, I sent the car down to OKC to have the the car completely shaved and repainted professionally (Rob @ Shifty Spraywerks). After paint, I fitted the car with new seals, headliner, and eventually moved on to the engine bay. We painted the bay flat black and powder coated most of the removable engine pieces. I also took the time to clean up some of the wiring and do a mild tuck and hide job. The blower setup has been done and re-done several times over the life of the car, however the current bracket has been the most successful in stability, vibration, and other common problems with custom blower brackets. The current bracket was built in 2010 locally by Brandon Maxey and was constructed out of 1/2" aluminum and eventually powder coated.
Overall the car is meticulously maintained and always garaged. Since restoration the car has never seen snow or harsh weather and has absolutely NO RUST. Every fall I remove the battery, add octane booster to store it for winter. In the spring time she gets a fresh coat of wax and an oil change. The current engine has less than 30k miles on it since it was built over 6 years ago. Suspension, brakes, and exhaust are all new within the past few years.
The sale includes any and all additional parts that I have for the car, as well as documentation including SDS manual and maps, dyno sheets, receipts, etc.

I've seen this car in person a couple of times and can say that the paint job alone is worth $8000. Without a good paint job/clean body, you don't have a nice car and it would take a lot of money and time ($8000+) just to get the body anywhere close to this.
This car is very well-sorted mechanically and everything is top notch. Plus, it's an absolute BEAST!

thanks for the kind words jim. I think a photo/video shoot is in order to truly show people how amazing this car is.

Tried to send you a message, but your box is full. I've got a mint 84 diesel 2 door rabbit and a 81 diesel pickup that's in good shape. I could trade you either one plus some cash on top if you're interested let me know.

Always loved you car bro. Bitter sweet.![]()

all PMs and offers replied to.
Note: Please keep in mind that this car is 100% Custom and will need an owner who can work with stand alone management and custom boosted setups. This car cannot be worked on by your local shop, or the dealer. You may find a custom / performance car shop to do some work, but honestly, you shouldn't be looking to purchase unless you know exactly what's going on under the hood.
I say this with all of the best intentions. The last 3 people I've talked to about the vehicle I've persuaded against purchasing due to the lack of understanding and knowledge.
It is in storage and will remain there until spring. If you are serious about purchasing, please call or text me.
Thanks everyone!

Very nice Have you ever ran Max down the track for some times? That may also help sell him.

Before the bodywork, this car used to be a track car/daily. The fastest 1/4mi time it ever put down was 13.2 @ 13psi... on street tires. I don't remember the trap, speed, etc. I have a stack of slips that I could scan if someone was really interested.
As for selling it, I'm pretty sure it's not going anywhere at the listed price. We all know 8k is a pipe dream in this market. I'll prob hold out till spring and maybe finish up a few odds and ends, take real pics, and lower the price. As always I'm open to reasonable offers.

who wants a supercharged rocco? i got one.![]()

I'm considering keeping the wheels (compomotive th mono), so knock $1,200 off asking price / offer. I have a stock set of bottlecaps that I could throw on, but the rubber is shot, I would not suggest driving with them.

If I had the cash I would buy it in a heart beat. Car looks great just from the I tires you posted. I race the mk1's so I'm in the know with performance stuff. Though I'm interested in what you did to it.
Doesn't have mega squirt?
Blue printing?
What is the suspenssion set up on it?
Thumbs up for a good looking mk2

Thanks for the kind words.
Fuel Management is SDS-EM1 with a few EM2 parts on it. Super old school / mid 90's management. It uses a hand held controller, no laptop. Only stores 1 map at a time, so everything is manual. No logging, no 3d maps, and no aux controls. Only sensors it uses is Air Temp, TPS, HAL, MAP and Coolant Temp.
The fuel rail is custom made, holding 55lb Injectors. Aeromotive AFPR + Pump.
Ignition is a 2x2 post GM coil pack, cost about $24ea at any local store....available even in the middle of Ohio.
Suspension setup - Bilstine Sports with Coleman Racing threaded sleeves. #350 / #250 spring rates. No front sway, Solid Rear Sway, Adjustable upper front strut. Poly mounts / control arms, and Solid Front with custom lower front cross member.
The car used to race drag and some auto x. Fastest 1/4 was 13.3, running 270whp @ 13psi, on street tires.
The car is an all around beast. Super fun street car with ability to have fun blowing down the track. The first few years of ownership were focused on making the car reliable, fun, and good looking. Since then it has been fantastic. I simply don't drive it much anymore and could use the cash on bills and house repairs.
I've said it many times, but I'm open to offers... just not ridiculous ones.

Yummy. If my wife would let me have another scirocco, I would. Good luck bump!

Bump for a good guy and a beautiful car. The paint on this NEEDS to be seen to be appreciated. Deep black with subtle flecks of purple and blue metallic. And how can you go wrong with a MONSTER supercharger on top of a 16V engine? Amazing.
