Yes, but my GTI is the slowest car I have owned (excepting a beater i drove for a month while looking for a car) in many years. Kinda getting sick of it; I miss having lots of power (don't miss the 17mpg I averaged in my GTO though).
#6
Yes, but barely.

Outrunning the Police Charger is one thing, being able to outrun radio waves, now THERE is something impressive!

Its got my Saab to 60 by a little, but after that it'd totally reel it in. I'm gonna go with, kind of.

Back when I had my Vette I was coming home from a club one night and someone in an X6 was tailgating me, and when I'd speed up to lose him he'd catch up as soon as I slowed down, then start driving right beside me. He must have been drunk and/or trying to race but I was just trying to get home. Eventually I just sped up to like 140mph and left him far behind. After that, the highway split (95 N from Providence to Boston splits into the 93 going one direction and the 95 continuing in another direction), so I took the ramp to 93 to drop off my friend. Shortly after I got on 93 I saw someone closing on me, and I thought it was the X6 again so I took off on him. Unfortunately this time it was a cop in a ChargerThe cop said he was doing 120mph trying to catch up and I was still pulling away
When he put his lights on I pulled over immediately though
I explained to him that I was being harassed on the road, he said he understood, but I was going to fast he had no choice but to give me a ticket. The ticket just said "100mph+" on it (never saw a "+" symbol on a speeding ticket before). The judge actually threw the ticket out completely when I went to court! I got very lucky

Yes, but those test are performed with the car absolutely empty, throw in several hundred lbs of gear, a cage, computer+mount+modem+electronics board+police radio and the little piggy himself, and then let's see these test performed.
My CC will destroy a crown Vic with all of the above, never tried in the diesel.
My stang not a chance in hell when he traps the quarter mile at 13.9 I'll be right at 159 mph and the 1/4 would be long gone at 10.51 @ 138 mph. Eh but I'm sure it serves a purpose. It's funny how people always say you can't outrun a radio you really don't need to most of our chases end up off of the highway in residential neighborhoods where driving really comes into play. The fastest car in the world is the one where the driver has nothing to lose. I on the other hand have a life, and property I would like to keep so sometimes the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
Edit: fixed answer

Are those figures INCLUDING what I am assuming is hundreds of pounds of gear in the trunk/passenger seat? If not I bet it would be quite a bit slower to 60
Depending on the season:
My GTI doesn't stand a chance
My 300zx would have it easy

That can get to 60 three times before my daily gets there once.
I'm just here for the sanctimonious circle jerk.

Stage 2+ 335i. 0-60 is about 4.4 - 4.6s, so yes, in theory it will out accelerate the charger. However, chances of me actually doing this are almost zero because:
* I have no reason to do this
* I cannot lay down the consistency of the launch you get out of the automatics
* It would be stupid to even attempt this.

How is 5-60MPH slower than 0-60MPH?My car does 0-60MPH in 5.6 stock (according to C&D) and with my intake and tune I put out about +50WHP and +50lb/ft over stock, so I'd say it's pretty close to even.

Because you can't shock the drivetrain with a hard launch when you're already rolling. I don't know if I've ever seen a car do 5-60 faster than 0-60. You're thinking that you're measuring 5-60 after the hard launch and just passing through 5 mph.
And to answer the question...no, it cannot.![]()

Forgot to throw in my "yes" vote, as in "yes a 2012 Charger cop car can out-accelerate my GTI"
5-60 also comes from not being able to use launch control/the clutch for the best start off the line.

Yes, definitely faster... but 46k+ for a Dodge Charger... even with all that go. Dang, I would never spend that but then again I'm not in charge of police spending for a town or state so that could be a bargain for all I know. I've seen a few MA state troopers on the Pike recently with new Tauruses... (Tauri?) I wonder if they've got all the SHO goodies in that one.
