    This.

I bet in retrospect selling that thing feels like how I felt when I was caught shop lifting when I was 9. Sick to my stomach, guilty, dirty, and ashamed.

Vad buys them with salvage titles and structural rust (which is hard because he lives in California, but he manages).

Buy the 996. Get your first Pcar with the motor in the worst place imaginable. They're awesome.

Honest question, did you drive it? I think I was suckered into buying my S4 by the sound of it, it ended up being a pretty boring car.

    Everyone's pulling for you, Vad.

This is like the forum version of a reality show!

You should shop it around. If Honey Boo Boo can have a show, so can you.

It's funny you say that. I did drive it and it was a hell of a lot more responsive than the Volvo. Much lighter on its feet than the S60R, even with 3 TCLers + the seller on board. Still, I was ambivalent, since, on paper, the S60R and the S8 are pretty evenly matched, the mileage is similar, the MPG is similar, etc. The Volvo also "looks" newer.

Then, I spent the better part of an hour watching (listening to?) to S8+exhaust videos on YouTube . I think that sealed it.

This one was replayed many times:

I still have the M3 for canyon carving/track/fun stuff. The S8 seems like it would be a decent daily, especially with that noise. GOD THAT NOISE! THAT NOISE!

Hopefully. I've never had so much trouble finding a part for a car. Every A8/S8 being parted out has the bumper sold. The first reply is always "Do you have the front bumper?" Used bumper places are all out of stock. It's like these things are made out of gold.
