So I just swapped my 4 spoke MFSW to a 3 spoke MFSW SW. I swapped the clock spring to a single stage and soldered in a resistor for the airbag. I have an issue now. The steering wheel light won't shut off and it feels like I have no power steering and the multi function doesn't work. I used ross tech's wiki to code it. Any ideas?

Which type of 3-spoke MFSW did you install? I see you swapped the clockspring, did you swap the control module? Did you do all the steering adaptations?

List your part numbers, maybe that will help us figure out what's wrong.

I don't have the part numbers but the wheel came out of a 2010 cc. I did not change the control module

Don't know about the rest of your problems, but in my case (4-spoke non-MFSW to 3-spoke MFSW) they had to do a re-wiring to get the horn work. Might be a simple thing since they did it in 30 minutes or so but I do not know the exact thing they did. Maybe a VW insider can chime in.

Maybe changing the SW module might fix the horn problem without a need for re-wiring.

OK, so I fixed the steering angle sensor and I have full power steering. I have no dash warning lights on...but nothing on the MFSW works at all, including the horn. Below is an auto scan. Im thinking it has something to do with the CAN bus not being coded correctly. I don't know what else to do about that because I've quadruple checked it and everything installed on the car is checked off. I've coded the steerign per Ross-Tech's wiki and that is still showing not coded correctly. Any ideas??

Does the 2010 CC steering wheel have the new button layout or does it match your old steering wheel? If it has the new buttons I think there's a thread here that said not all of the button controls will work. Sorry to not be more help but maybe you can find it with a search.

It's the newer style buttons, not like my old ones. I've seen threads where most of them work I believe. None of them work now.

Not sure if it matters, but what sticks out to me is you have the second digit coded as ROW parking lights instead of NA, and you have the fourth digit as NA auto transmission. Perhaps that's throwing it off.

Also the last digit for the rear wiper, there are two options for the sedan with board computer & without. What is board computer, and have you tried both?

I must have not changed it back before the scan but I was trying both different options. My current coding is 0002111

If anyone can PLEASE clue me in on what I need to do, to get the MF working. Nothing on it works. Not the horn or the lights on the steering wheel, nothing.

I checked my coding and it's the same as your's other than I have shift paddles enabled, but mine is a Mk5 GTI wheel.

Gotta be the SW module, clockspring, or airbag harness

That's your problem right there. Your info says you have a 2006 B6. The newer B6 and CC steering wheels cannot communicate with the older (Pre-2009) Steering Wheel Control Modules. Being I don't know all your part numbers (for ClockSpring and Harness) I can't confirm what other parts might have to be changed but I know I HAD to change my Steering Wheel Control Module for the buttons to work. This is all the info I have.

Keep in mind that the CC wheel that you have and the MK6 wheel I have are essentially exactly the same, just different designs, so my swap is pretty much the same as yours. Also keep in mind that I swapped my CAN Gateway when I installed my new radio and MDI kit. Also keep in mind that what radio you have, may determine whether you have audio controls or not. Lastly, as long as you have the instrument cluster with the Red MFD, there will always be 2 buttons (the "left menu" button and the "back" button, both on the right side of the SW)that don't work.

Just to clarify, I have the RCD-510. I just recently upgraded to the newest "Q" Canbus as well. I also have upgraded the gauge cluster from the red one to the newer 2010 white cluster. The airbag harness is the one that came with it. As far as the clock spring, I have also changed that one to the exact part number you used.

Now knowing all this, is it still possible that it's the SW control module?

these parts werent meant to work together but they do!. since, there's no real support. your venturing into uncharted territory. u have an early version of sw control module(E) software 15 new (sw 30) works well with mk5 swap but iffy on mk6 it seem's. since the control module is communicating with system and its saying coded incorrectly. try coding out of range theres only 10 combinations 0-9. or you can spend $$$ on new sw control module. your coding 0002111 try 0003111,0004111,0005111,0006111,
worse thing gonna happen when u put in gear it'll buck!!!! if it buck put back in park and try another combo u cant mess up you have original coding or start another thread asking for sw coding. but IIRC its 0005111 or 0006111 i know its high and out of range. range meaning vagcom only gives 0,1,2, for this option i believe. I also tried using a 4 spoke multifunction harness on a 3 spoke multifunction wheel both were dual stage horn didnt work although it did fit clock spring it didnt work. Make sure proper harness.

Before I start going nuts, how do I check the clockspring and harness to make sure they are working properly?

Well by process of elimination, we have essentially the same steering wheel, the same clock spring, the same harness, the same gateway, the same cluster and newer radios. My buttons all work and yours dont. The one difference between our setups is the Steering Wheel Control Module. I'm pretty certain that's the problem.
