ouch...
On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit.' As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high - Ayton Senna

not quite sure what was supposed to be going on in that vid.
ninja edit: didn't read the video tittle "bad driver compilation" all makes sense now![]()

I use to "touge" out in the New Britain res years ago before the road became utter ****. I then grew up and became an "adult". Even back then when I was 18 and having an RSX-S with my lack of good judgement and driving skill, I still looked like Senna next to these ass clowns and I have next to no seat time trololo![]()

That guy has a bunch of similar vids from this road, and they are all both entertaining and a bit depressing.
At the same time, if you wanted to write off a car, you could just repeatedly drive the opposite way down that road and be assured that you'd get hit eventually.

That was just horrendous to watch... After teaching my 13 year old brother to drive, I can guarantee even he'd be able to out manoeuvre these idiots.
#9
Lot of stupidity in there, mainly for the lack of care given. Great place for cops to post up.
#10
I never been on the road so I am going to venture to guess that curve is steep and banked causing drivers to cut into the other lane. Is it really that hard to stay in the lane?

Surprised there are no 20 cop cars parked there all day...
Look at your signature, now back to mine, now back to yours, now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn’t mine.

I lol'd, but I'm also surprised none of those bikers got clobbered by one of these idiots.

Guy in the Z32 300ZX is either one hell of an epic parallel parker or VERY lucky @ the 2:40ish mark.

No.
They used to have a relatively lax approach, but it's simply gotten too popular with guys like you see here - wannabe drifters who have no lane discipline or skill.
I've actually sat and talked with a lot of the police that patrol the area, within reason they'll leave you alone. It's really worth avoiding on weekends, unless you want one of the pro photographers to get a good picture of you, but you risk a ticket and/or a collision.
#20
Didn't some biker make this video because he was fed up of people crossing over to the other side of the road or something?
"What's that loud, boring sound you'll hear when I stop talking?"
"It's an albino humping worm!"
"Why do they call it that?"
"Because it doesn't have any pigment."

What's the deal with this corner?

A friend of mine is always begging for me to take the Duke out and go ride up there again. I have told him I'll pass on multiple occasions. This just confirms more clearly that the few fumbles you see occasionally are actually repeatedly playing out on any number of tricky corners there all friggin day long. Maximum lame and minimum thrills plus a decent chance of getting crippled by an underinsured nimrod.
I suppose my normal urban commute is just as dangerous, but it doesn't seem like it.

None of these are my friend's cars, please don't blur the plates. Is this like the morons who record themselves doing ridiculous speed runs on public roads and get arrested later, or is plain bad driving something an officer has to witness to give you a ticket?
Me too. At the guy in the crappy Saab trying to e-brake drift.![]()

ugh, these videos make me cringe the entire time. The motorcyclists are crazy to be anywhere near the idiot cagers.

Having never been to CA I can't understand what is so difficult about that one turn that everyone seems to have trouble with.
They either go over the center line or almost lose it nearing the turn completion. What gives?![]()

At first I thought it was a turn on Pike's Peak that people were just trying to imitate racers. Then I realized it's some random corner on a hill that jerks think they are drift kings and super machismo fast & furious drivers who can handle anything. All those mods and I bet 90% of them never thought of upgrading tires. It must be cool to run hard on your overweight chrome or blacked out wheels with horrible suspension setups and cheap tires.
I would think you would look a lot cooler (supposing you were trying to be cool) not squealing tires, coming into the corner a bit fast, braking hard, downshifting to second and then pulling from the corner clean and in your lane. Oh well![]()

It does seem like a really fun place to sit and watch the action though.
#34
Without knowing anything going into it, that's what it looked like to me. Bikes and cameramen are camped out at the corner, and often when someone crossed the line, a bike magically appeared coming downhill towards them. One time, even the cameraman stood in the road and looked like he was waving the driver to get back in his own lane.
#35
I also find it interesting that someone parked their bike where it was most likely to get hit, but still legally (maybe) parked.
Insurance fraud anyone?
