Seems like a pretty good value here. Of course usually this comes with a sacrifice in quality. Anyone have experience with DDM's HID replacement bulbs? Mine are going out soon and I need replacements. Stock is like 4300K, I am thinking about 6000K for whatever replacements I opt for. At $120 a piece, the OEM bulbs aren't exactly affordable (that's the price over at KefferVWParts.com).

I just placed an order. Guess I'll review these for everyone and report back with my findings.

Opted for 5000K for the low beams. Also picked up some 3000K for my flash-to-pass lights.

They aren't bad at all. One of my lights flicker a little but that do to the ballast I think.

I got my replacements from The Retrofit Source, and got their 5000K bulbs.

$45 bucks for the pair it was worth trying, and I am very happy with them so far.

I also purchased from The Retrofit Source, but I went with the Osram 66240 5000K D2S CBI. Look good.

I'd stick w/ Osram or Phillips...color will shift, especially more with other brands so something closer to oem 4300 or 5000 might change to be effectively 6000.
If your gas cap light comes on even if you think you tightened the cap, try pulling on the cap as you tighten it. Worked for me.

I had them on my 06 accord in the headlights and fogs I have since sold the accord and took both sets of hids and installed them into my girlfriends 07 Hyundai and sisters 98 accord and they are still working fine my friend had an old set of them and he had just one ballast go out and they swapped it out no problem. I would definately use them again!
i've seen that wrench on the mfd, but i can't find it in the engine bay. has anyone seen this wrench's location?
      Try checking the airbox.

      This.

      Osram / Phillips or bust.

I replace my HID bulbs every year with new ones every year for maximum brightness. (search HIDPlanet for more info on why)

Hey Chris, how did the 3000k install go? Where did you mount the ballasts?

Haven't installed those yet. The D2S HID bulbs were plug and play though.

I have to order new back covers for the lights. Since you have to cut a hole for the hid wiring.Might do that next week.

I know you don't have the MKV anymore, but how did the bulbs turn out?

Awesome. My car got hit last month, now I have one nice new bulb that came with the new headlight assembly, and one that is 4 years old and they're different color temperatures, and insurance wouldn't replace the other to match.

I might order 2 anyways to mitigate the possibility that it won't match the new OEM one though.
