Thread: Chinese release 2013 FAW VW Jetta (think Polo sedan)

    2012 (13MY) FAW Volkswagen Jetta (VWs Skoda Rapid)








    Related to VW Polo & Skoda Rapid (PQ25) in Europe and soon to be released Shanghai VW Santana.

    Power is from the EA 211 (related to new Golf 7 and up!) 1.4L 66 kW and 1.6L 81kW.

    Length 4.4m
    Width 1.70m
    Height 1.46m
    Wheelbase 2603mm

    Wow, what a bland, boring and depressing car.

    Debadge it, change the grill slightly, and nobody would ever know it was a VW as well, the design is just that bland...

    What is it about cars carrying the same name, but look otherwise completely different in other markets?

    I understand all of the need to probably get a good price point, but I just don't understand why there is such a difference?

    It bears next to no resemblance to the Jetta produced everywhere else, except for the fact that it has four doors.

    This replaces the Chinese Jetta, which is the oooold Mk2 Jetta. So think of it as parallel evolution.
