Thread: D3 design group Vintech 550

  1. 08-31-2012 09:27 AM #1
hadnt seen it mentioned and thought a few would get a kick out of the car.

It is a car concept based off a 1953 Porsche 550 frame with cutting edge technology. This handcrafted machine has traveled from France to be shown exclusively here in California at the Quail, the Concourse De Elegance and will be parked here at the Emporium for the weekend. From it’s billeted one off engine to its full carbon fiber body, the machine is the pinnacle of engineering excellence. Come on down to the Deus Venice Hand Made Festival and have a gander. Bibs for drool will be provided on the day.

I wish there were more pics of this. It's such a tease.

I wish companies like this produced their own designs rather than copying older ones (yes, I realize that the original car didn't come as a coupé with that design so they are slightly better than most). They obviously have the manufacturing skills, but it seems quite wasted imho to use them on just producing another replica car.

    +1
Just because you bought an expensive, fast, flashy car does not mean you can drive it well.

nothing wasted here... 1300 lbs of carbon goodness...

this is a seriously badass ride. I'm all for evolving wonderful designs in this case.

Did this car actually make it to the Quail? I was there and don't recall seeing the car.
If you want to win, hire a Finn.
