Thread: DRL turn off procedure??

  1. 08-31-2012 12:06 PM #1
Has anyone successfully turned off the DRL "feature" on their Golf-R using the owners manual procedure??

I have tried it several times, searched on the VW forums found more specific explanations, tried them and failed. Tried it with parking brake on and off, still failed. Summoned the great 28 armed god of mine shafts, foreign cars, and pest control. Tried again and well you get the picture.....

    Can anybody help?

Why the hell would you want to turn off the most distinctive feature of our cars?

Pretty sure the manual is referring to regular Golf, there... It won't work. You can use VAGCOM to allow you to turn them on/off via the MFD.

Check your MFD, it should be there under convenience I think? I'll double check when I go to lunch.

Nope. You need vagcom to turn them off.

In Vagcom, you can enable the option in the MFD for turning them on and off. I think it's in central elec somewhere.

I would like to turn off the DRL myself, tbh...
Will see what I can do after I get the ECM and DP installed on Monday.
