Hey everyone, I picked up a 337 the other day after a long search for the right car, and I think this turned out to be the perfect choice. Its also my first Volkswagen, even though I've loved them for years. It has 120,000 miles and I purchased it from the original owner, which was a major plus. He had it parked outside, so the outside is decent, it has a reasonable sized dent in the driver fender and a couple scratches, but the interior is immaculate. I was so surprised when I first looked at it because it looks literally brand new except the whole in the drivers floor mat from his heel. The engine bay as well is amazing, I really have no idea how he kept it so clean.
Time for pictures (they're kinda crappy, but I've just been so excited)

the headlights were kind of foggy, I used the turtle wax cleaner stuff and it sorta worked...

the bay looks awesome. even the heat shield in the back looked brand new

like I said, the interior is beautiful. He must of had seat covers on or something...

and he left motion sickness bags in the seatbacks haha

he also left this in one of the compartments, pretty cool I think

He gave me a huge pack of maintenance receipts, the original brochure, and the owners manual.

One question for you all, on the roof I found a small area of oxidization or corrosion, and I remember reading that there is a 12 year corrosion warranty on the body. Does this apply here? And has anyone claimed it or had any experience with the dealer on this? Any input would help.

It looks awesome now, and as soon as I drove it once I fell in love. But there's still a lot I have planned. Items I'm looking to get:
    RS driver fender
floor mats/liners as well as a cargo liner for the trunk (I reallyyy want to keep the interior just as nice)
    glass lens covers
    black grille
    stubby/shark fin antenna
    clear side markers
the BBS center cap mod (I like the look of the exposed lugs and bbs cap)
polo aero / mkv rear wiper
    oem roof rack+rails

    In the future:
front bumper and lip (they're pretty chipped up)
    rear bumper
    cat back
    coils
    wheels

Let me know what you think! Any tips would be appreciated - especially regarding the warranty - and if you have any of the parts I'm looking for shoot me a pm and we can work out a deal.
    Thanks

Keep in mind the timing belt needs changed every 60-75k. So youre almost due for a new one.

*edit sorry looked at the pics wrong*

Nice find, new DV, drop in K&N air filter, and theres a bunch of little stuff you can do. But get the timing belt situation checked out, you'll have a fun car that should last.

Unfortunatly that little rust spot isnt cover. The rust has to start from inside and work its way out. That area thats rusting was caused by the paint coming off ad THEN rusting
Sorry forgot to mention he did timing belt and water pump. Also the clutch at 50k
Too bad about the warranty, but any ideas on how to repair the spot?

Sorry I looked at the pics wrong. I'd say that the corrosion on that *might* be fixable by the dealer. Only way to know is to go up and ask them.

I would. Because if it was done when everyone on earth knows its supposed to be (60-70k) and not when VW recommends (80k+), then at 120k it's about time to be thinking about it again...

I checked the records and timing belt/ tensioner / water pump was al done at 106k, and clutch was done at 76k so I'm set for a while

Bought a new set of fenders so I can replace my dented up one. I've never taken the fenders off before, I can't imagine it being to hard but does anyone have any tips, anything I should be careful of?

Mark exactly where the fender was lined up on the bolts. The bigest pain is getting the door not to hit the fender and the gaps to look the same.

Got glass lenses in, and temporarily plastdipped my front grille. I like how it matches the lower grilles but I'm not a huge fan of the plastidip so its time to find get a real black grille.

Got a rear polo aero wiper from a fellow vortexer. The stock wiper bothered me so much... only problem with the new one is there's no cap, so if anybody has a rear polo wiper cap... let me know
And yes I know you can buy it from ecs, but I'm really not trying to pay 12 dollars in shiping for a part that costs 4.50.
