85 & 88 synchros at local jy-What do you need?

There are two quantum synchro GLs at my local junkyard. These cars kinda have a spot in my heart since they're so similar to my foxes, and I hate to see them just rotting away, great parts just counting down their time to meet Miseur Crusher.

The 85 is grey, and is pretty complete. The 88 is red, and in much better condition.

So if you guys need something, let me know! I'll try to get some pics of them soon.

Do you know what kind of seats they have by any chance? I'm also in need of the differential lock control (center console) and possibly a rear differential, but I don't know how crazy you want to get with this. Are these in Denver?

denver_fox..... Needing the trim piece along the front edge of the hood. Also need the cluster surround plastic, and the controls/radio surround plastic if they are not broken. Need the plastic cover in the rear cargo area, right side, that covers the rear washer resevoir. Let me know what you find. Thanks, David.

First off, I want to let everyone know the 88 was crushed.
Really quite a shame.

I cant remember off the top of my head what color the seats were, but I think they were grey/black. And how hard could the rear diff be to get?? Sorry, Quantum noob here. Foxes are much simpler. Would it be like a chevy differential?

Edelsouth: JohnBarley Corn already has dibs on the dash trim, grille, and hood trim. I can still get you the cluster plastic, and by plastic cover do you mean the side panel?(which is more like cardboard)

denver_fox..... The cover that goes over the right side in the cargo area that covers the rear washer jug is missing on mine. The right side and left side covers (doors) are both plastic on this car. The car is an '85 wagon. I have taken some pics of the area missing the cover, and of one of the surround pieces that I need. I need the plastic that goes around the instrument cluster, and the plastic that goes around the radio/heater controls. I'll attempt to send a pic to your e-mail of the needed items. Thanks, David.

I'm looking for the chin spoiler piece off the 1985. It's the thin plastic piece that runs along the bottom of the front valence.

According to their website, the '85 that is left is just a base model. Is it a Syncro? If it isn't then it won't have the parts I need.

Yea sometimes they mess up. The 85 IS a QSW. They actually just got another 88 synchro the other day. I've been super busy with work, and life in general, but I havent forgotten about you guys!

I'll try to keep everyone updated more often.

Also needed:
- Left sun visor, cloud white
- Sunroof crank (only if its release button is still intact, and it's still "springy", please. )
- Front springs. Will "settle" for complete front struts if you don't want to take them apart...

Whatever you can do would be MUCH appreciated.

I"m still up for the chin spoiler bits (if it has them). There's a central long piece for the chin and 2 'doglegs' on each side of the front fenders. It will be 1985 only.

O.k so it's been snowing here all day. Hopefully we don't get too much more. I'll try to make it out there tomorrow if it's not too cold.

I'm still in for:
- left sun visor (Cloud White - it's a really, really light grey-almost-white.)
- both visor clips (same color)
- sunroof crank
So long as the visor is in 'good' condition (still fairly firm, and no cracks in its mount), the clips are not cracked, and the crank is 'good' (still "springy", and the release button is there), I want 'em.

Add to list:
- dome light, and its plug connector (only if it's a sunroof model.)


Front springs, you can remove from the list (got a set from another member.)

It's the pull knob (vacuum switch). If it looks weathered or brittle then never mind, but let me know.

O.k everyone it's supposed to be a real nice today so I plan on leaving in an hour or two.

Sorry everyone. I went to the JY on tuesday, and when I went to pay for the $2.00 admission with my debit card, the lady said it was declined. This was strange, because I knew I had over $200 in my account. So I went outside and called my bank to check my balance, and I was immediatly transferred to the fraud prevention people. Uh-oh. They claim that some company I've never heard of, Z corporation or something like that, was trying to charge 60 cents to my account. She said it was such a small amount because they were trying to "test" my card to see if it would go thru, then they were really going to hit me! So now my bank account is locked for a week until I get my new card.

I hope the quantum is still there once I get my account restored. This has kinda turned into a pain, I'm sorry everyone.
