Not sure if this has been posted, but...

I think it's a step back from the current sedan.

I thought they weren't going to share the platform?
That is going to be a huge fail if they produce it looking that way.

I was wondering how the new WRX and STi would look since the new Impreza is just so awful looking. If that's it, do not want!

Shockingly bad.
I really like the current sedan.

I must be the minority here. I like the styling on the new Impreza, and I like the new WRX

while it doesn't look good, i personally think every brand new design subaru from the last decade has looked hideous on first introduction. they tend to take a while to get used to, and some people will just never like them.
when the bugeye came out i remember how insistent so many people were on just how ugly that car was. some people still feel that way, but there is a legion of people who now long for those days. i think this will be no different. the ugly rear fascia will be cleaned up and theres no way the exhaust will be dangling around all sloppy like that.
it will debut as an ugly car that slowly grows on everyone who liked previous models. As long as the performance is there, there will be no issues. People had the same fear with the current model.

As usual, typical nothing to get excited about styling by Subaru. The only styling cue that seems to stand out on it is the hood scoop.

How do we know its a Subaru when they've covered the badges?![]()
There are no old Porsches - just new owners.

I spy a 6 speed. Hopefully that's standard now.

It's always the same thing... slap a hood scoop on it and call it a day. Useless.

This is probably just a test mule using current impreza bits.

That's the way it goes with Subaru, it seems.
Right before the refresh comes out, people start screaming and crying about how the current model looks great, and curse Subaru for changing it. This is also the exact same time they stop complaining about the current model.
You know what they about Subaru sedans.. If you don't like this one, just wait until the next one comes out....![]()

No surprise here, the WRX/STI has never been anything great to look at.

Both of you should have added Subaru to make the search easier. I believe three or less letters, such as WRX, would not return proper results.
That said, kudos for at least searching firstTCL is usually really quick about posting these - we'd generally won't let them go stale for a few days

Exactly. Its always been about form following function, with a bit cosmetic lunacy thrown in.
I have always appreciated the visually convoluted nature of the WRX and STI...it breathes the most blue-collar machismo this side of a Chevy Pickup.
And we all know, cosmetics aside, it will handle like the business (and hopefully have more than 300hp in STI form, just because).

Um...chicken littles...That's clearly a mule.
The hood scoop is taped on for pete's sake.
