Dont kbow what to make of it so far. There is such a huge time lapse. They went through the winter, walkers adapted to the cold? FreeIng temps will have no effect on walking corpes?
First two seasons all they ever shot were pistols and shot guns, they their rocking ak's and m4's? I think they skipped thru too much.... Too much time has passed.

To quote, "holy sh!t!'. Wow, the plot thickens.

At first I though Michonne's two walker "pets" was creepy. But it seems like they're useful at pack mules!![]()

Awesome first episode! Those security guard walkers were rad.

There was a reference to "keeping us alive all winter" leading me to consider that they've been scrounging and scavenging for a while. Also, when they were looking at maps they mentioned that they went all through a certain area and something like "there's nothing left."
Rick's rifle with the laminated stock is sweet, I'll have to watch it again to see if I can ID it. Placing them in the south, I wouldn't be surprised if the writers let the audience assume that they found all sorts of firearms.

It's not like winters in the Atlanta area are particularly harsh.
I am interested to see what they do with Hershel. Will he survive if they cut the leg off in time, or will he turn?

Winter down south wouldn't freeze walkers, it would just keep them from rotting as fast. I think they had to make the time jump to so they could move the pregnancy story ahead.
Given how close they seemed to be at the end of season 2, I am surprised it took them so long to stumble upon the prison.
Liked the 1st ep. overall very much though.![]()

Watching the last season finale and yesterday's episode, I noticed they are really sloppy with their gun prop and effect...none of the pistol shows any slide movement or ejecting cartridge....
I guess they spent all the budget on zombie effect...

Wonder if the leg amputation will work (if revealed in comics, no spoilers please)...

they have suppressors!....they sure wasted a lot of ammo at the prison though. they shouldve just baited all the walkers to come to the fence and stab them through it one by one. it wouldve been the safest method as well.
anyway im glad im finally on board with this show. i cant wait til next week.![]()

I just got into this show over the weekend thanks to the marathon. I wish I would have seen it earlier. Happy to know they are finally picking up weapons, the CDC episode made me cringe with all the weapons they left on the floor.
I think Carl is going to get it on with Beth soon or already has. That scene in the prison cell leads me to believe that.
The grave scene in the previews has me worried about Herschel though.

Im not sure how much they are going to be sticking to the comics, if they are not i have an insight people may not have mentioned.
The unborn baby. I have a feeling maybe it will play a bigger role then we think as far as a cure goes.
After all, a baby inside a placentia is independent from a mothers infection and disease. Its protected. For example, if a woman has aids, or cancer then the unborn baby will not. Same reason if she has a miscarriage, the baby will not be tearing her up from the inside.
I wonder if they can use that to cure the living. Obviously, the walkers are a lost cause.
I dunno jus a thought.

Not sure about that. There are number of diseases that can transfer in utero.

Even drug addictions can cross the barrier.
Regardless, this zombie virus is weird enough I wouldn't doubt the writers flip a coin whether an infant is infected like everybody else or the salvation of mankind. Depends how either scenario would affect the storyline to the writers' benefit.

OK, I am watching it after swearing I was done at the end of 2. This ep was OK but still so many continuity errors. Neat effect when pulling guard's riot gear helmet off and face goes with it but... If they lack structural integrity like that, when do arms & legs start dropping off, hands pulling free, and jaws hitting the dirt? The ammo waste was idiotic especially when complaining about not having enough. As stated above, why not just wait on the fence and skewer them? Then, they are all nicely piled up in a few places instead of all over the exercise yard and have to be carried, oy! I'm sorry Hershel, you're a dumbass. Why didn't you rub your butt in the zombie face too? I would think by now that ALL zombies would be treated as dangerous and spiked Roman style to eliminate the sleepers. Yes, I will continue to watch as I am hooked just enough to see where it is heading while secretly hoping they all get et.

I see a lot of you are still whining about continuity issues. If you haven't been able to completely suspend reality yet for a zombie show, then please give up already. This first episode was killer and I will look past any flaws if the rest are this good.
