Hello, I just bought a 2009 VW Jetta GLI. Just wondering in general, how frequently are the GLI's a target for theft in general? Anybody know?
Also, the dealer has to look into a problem with the radio. It's the standard 6 disc CD player with Sirius Satellite option.
Two things I notice is that the External Audio Jack that was in the center concil doesn't work. I think it's the radio itself since it cannot jog between CD and the Aux position like my wife's 2009 VW Passat(similar looking radio). Then when I tried to load a CD, it wouldn't take it after trying any of the 6 CD slots. I kept getting a "CDC Hardware Error". I gave up on trying. Then I called Sirius and they were nice enought to activate the radio's Sirius Satellite for 3 months free. It was working fine other than the CD part. Took it for a ride and by the time I got back, it switched off the Sirius radio and started to beep every 3 seconds and flashed the same "CDC Hardware Error"constantly. No other functions were available either. I shut it off and put the car in the garage. The next morning going into work, I had the same Flashing and Beeping the whole way in. After work, I turned it on,
once more and the radio started working again.
I told my local dealer and think he's said he's going to swap out the radio since VW USA had approved it already after talking to them about the error. Question is, has anyone else received these "CDC Hardware Error" before?? Please, advise? Thanks.
