    Per http://www.caradvice.com.au/157255/v...ings-revealed/
ACC as well with ... "Another new technology that will be launched with the MQB, and one that will become standard on the Golf Mk7 and Audi A3, is an award-winning multi-collision brake system." Maybe another reason why they are going with an electronic e-brake?

I'm impressed by the MQB and now the gizmo's, but wondering what this does to the base price and the Options when the numbers get revealed...10% hike from it's predecessor? Will they package these options or will they allow us to pick and choose, so each car is individually styled? Made in USA?

Others have posted concerns as well. I am very concerned about it. Not sure yet whether it will be a deal breaker. I remember when Mercedes started to go overboard with electronics and their reliability ratings went down hill. Why make things more complex than they need to be when the benefits are not significant.

The MKVII looks great! Exterior is more sleek and modern, very Audiesque, which I don't mind. The interior looks good, although I'm not sure how all that aluminum will look in person. I hope the TDI will come with IRS and not torsion beam. Nice! Looking forward to seeing it in person.

Wow, those side by side comparrisons between the MK6 and 7 are unbelievable! I absolutely love the look of the MKVII's so far, especially considering this is just a 4 door Golf. Can't wait to see the GTI.

I'm going to guess it would be worth waiting for this than purchasing a new MKVI now.

So when is this projected to hit showroom floors?

  8. 09-23-2012 03:40 AM #148
I hope to be able to get it without the piano black, I don't want crappy easy to surface scratch plastic (I just have a bit of it on my MKVI on the RNS-510 and I hate it)

    Otherwise I love it!

I'll take the piano black thanks. That silver finish looks like something out of a Hyundai.

Yeah, that silver looks... like plastic painted silver, I was hoping for a matte black or dark grey
We'll see when the car is actually released

It isn't exactly an easy retrofit to go back to a conventional parking brake either unfortunately if you wanted to 'downgrade'.. .haha

It's yet to be announced, as far as I know. Paris Show is Thursday and I'm hoping the debut it there with release dates. I'm just being optimistic, though.

God damn. I was just now thinking about pulling the trigger on an Mk6 and this has to come out.

I love the looks of the Mk6, yet this just makes it look a bit goofy now. Side by side anyway.

Yet I don't want to wait a year... OR be one of the first people to buy a new gen .

The interior design reminds me to a certain extent of the Mk4.

is it just me or are the computer renders always quite a bit lower than the actual cars? what's the point? if they like them to look low, why not make them low for production?

  18. 09-27-2012 12:33 PM #158
Does anyone know what the release date for NA would approximately be? It will be a 2014 model I am assuming?

Am I being delusional that we'll be able to order those nice brown leather seats in the US?

That would be way too amazing for us to get our hopes up about. Most likely we will get the dark gray interior only.

Don't we have cornsilk now? (I know I do on my SportWagen, is it not available for the Golf?)

Only dark interior for Golfs including the TDI. PLEASE give us at least te cornsilk option! I can't stand black interiors.

Wow, well if that doesn't change then there goes my plan to replace my 11 JSW for a Golf in the future

VW "lowered" the car to make it look more appealing for the big reveal. The real car will likely sit higher.

I made a huge mistake and sold my golf R. I am now stuck in my lease for a BMW and I am so excited for the mk VII. It looks pretty awesome.

Hey, sorry for the sort of off topic post,

but I can't get past page five. Tried clicking "6" and "last page" and typing "6" in the address bar where the "5" is.

    suggestions?

seems to be a board issue with it's page numbering - happens in a few topics. seems to just be an empty page, so it takes you back a page. you see you post as the last (well second last now)

Apparently Dynaudio stereo wont be available for Golf 7, instead everyone will be stuck with the standard 2x20W or 4x20W (Masters edition) stereo which sucks. What the heck?

I had asked the same question in the "Forum Help" forum, and got this Admin's response:

"That's because there are some deleted posts in the thread.

Our forum software paginates everything to 35 (I think) posts per page. When a thread gets that 36th post, it starts the second page, and so on. When we (the moderators, that is) delete posts, they don't actually go away, it just doesn't show them to you guys any more, but they stay in the thread. Thus, if that thread has 40 posts, but 5 are deleted, the thread will say it has 2 pages, but it only displays 35 posts, or one page worth, to you guys.

Confusing, but that's how it works. -Tim "

(Since asking the question, having never run into the issue before, I now get the same issue with about a dozen threads in different forums.)

I have been told it's an option from the 15. production week 2013, along with the LED tail lights.

the first pricelists showed the dynaudio option, but was removed.

This info comes from the head of products in vw norway.
I have a link but its a site for paying members only....

This was written sep. 8 2012
    in norwegian
" At Dynaudio og LED-baklykter var utsatt til uke 15 neste år fikk vi f.eks beskjed om rett før helgen. "
    translation
That the Dynaudio and LED taillights were postponed to week 15 next year, was something we got information on just prior to last weekend
