looks like a new lightweight 17" wheel option for the R... that actually fits over the brakes (check the link above)!

      size: 17x8
      offset: 45+
center bore: 57.1mm (same as OEM)

Wow, even says it will clear Brembos, Stoptechs etc. I wonder if it will clear my Brembo 18z setup? Might have to look into these for winter wheels.

I really love these wheels. Wish they made them in an 18inch, would be perfect for track wheels.

I started to wonder if they would clear my 350mm Brembo kit, but holding an 18inch Neuspeed wheel over them, I remember that the calipers were very close

I was hoping for 18's too, but I don't plan on upgrading the brakes anytime soon

That depends on what you think "enjoyable" means.

When you start denting, warping, bending some 18" wheels, then you will know what I mean.

First of all you are assuming everyone has the same opinion as you. You should know life (and the internet) doesn't work that way. Second of all don't act like other people don't have experience with things, especially car people on a car forum talking about car wheels. Third I have had numerous sets of 17 18 and 19 inch wheels on numerous cars and the only wheels I ever dented/warped/bent were lightweight 17" wheels which is exactly what these Nuespeeds are. Small diameter does not mean unbreakable.

Damn, you are taking things a little too personal.

I never said 17"s were indestructable, but they are certainly more comfortable and less likely to
get damaged than the 18" and MUCH less likely than the teeth shattering 19"s.

I too have had them all. 17"s = FTMFW! Ride comfort and added protection.
Big deal they are slightly less attractive than the 18"s that put a pit in my stomach everytime I
      hit a small road imperfection.

      Sorry for being serious

I run 19s and don't think they are teeth shattering at all.

I really like those wheels - very clean and understated, nice profile. Outstanding weight. Well done, Neuspeed.

I think they look amazing in general, but I'd have to seem them on an R sitting on the ground. I think that the R's fenders are too large, these wheels will get swallowed up like all 17s. I went with 18s because I didn't want to go with bigger wheels and like to keep stock size tires, but I threw on the Neuspeed sport springs to help put everything into proportion.

Aesthetically speaking, wheel size should arguably be proportionate to the overall height, thus 18's and larger seem to "look" better.... Functionally speaking though, wheels should be just large enough to clear the brakes...

Assuming you lowered the vehicle, the R would still look pretty interesting with 17's and fat rubber. On my previous car (MINI Cooper S) I kept 16 inch wheels with a chunky set of tires and a nice, but not ridiculous, drop. This actually drew a lot of positive compliments... And made the ride a lot more comfortable!

Any clearance issues running these with a 245/40 tire at stock ride height? I'm considering the RSE05 as a track wheel alternative to the TR MT1 which is 17x8 ET48

Thanks for the link. If tyrol mike can fit a 255 on an ET48 17x8 then I expect a 245 on an ET45 should be fine

Wondering if anyone else out there has photos of these? I've seen the blue GTI side shot with black wheels, and a white Polo with the gunmetal wheels off of a Japanese site.

It's like you can read my mind. I got them last week and just mounted them last night. I need to get it washed up before I get pictures, but if you want garage/iphone pictures I can go snap a few.
