Maybe they should add something like BMW's Valencia Orange or Porsche's Speed Yellow for the Gti and / or the R version . I can never believe how dull VW is with their color palette . Color is such a visceral thing that can make or break a car .

In Europe we have the option to choose what ever color we want, and pay VW to paint it int that color. It's expensive as h***.
This option comes when the first big "load" of cars are out the door.

I believe Porsche charges north of 5K in the States for '' paint to sample '' - maybe it gives some idea of the magnitude ?

AUDI of America charges $1500.00 (A3, A4, A5) for any color ever sold by Audi and $3500.00 for any color on mother Earth. Price goes up on A6, A7, A8, Q7.

(there are some "suggested" special colours, but you can get any RAL colour at this price)

VW could certainly use some better colors. The basics are nice but something brighter would be sweet.

I'd have paid $1500 for a European color. I might have paid $3500 for Mistubishi Eclipse orange. I'm sure I already paid extra for Shark Blue.

Pacific blue with bright red tails would look quite nice. The dark blue is a little too dark for me.

There are really on 3 "colors" to choose from. The other 4 options are just different shades of gray. I am so sick of black, white, and silver/gray cars. I am really hoping that VW will offer a nice orange or green for the GTI.

Other than Pacific Blue at extra cost (and which I hope we get), the same boring color palette that's offered here. I would have expected that in Europe where they actually buy the Golf, VW's bread and butter, they'd give the home team a better standard selection. At least we don't have to pay extra for Tungsten Silver.

I am sure this is just the initial batch of cars - you can only make so many color runs, economically. I am sure they don't want to change the color of the production line every few days...

Maybe, but given the fierce competition at home, I doubt they'd limit colors and possibly lose sales.
Just have to wait and see.

I like Pearl Effect white and off-white colors - since far removed Audi times. I am so happy VW is returning to them.

A pointless and random observation, but I noticed that on the "German" website, some of the colors are identified by English rather than German names. Ie, in German, silver is silber, blue is blau, etc.

It's between silver and black for me!

As white has become the new grey in terms of popularity I notice VW have cottoned on to this business opportunity & is charging £200 extra for what was a base colour...
