Okay, well I thought they were German. Oops.
Would be sweet to see Audi engines in F1. And the tie up between Tag Heuer and both McLaren and Audi makes sense.

German connection? Vodafone is a UK company.
As for Mclaren's future engines I secretly holding out hope the become Mclaren Audi.![]()

I think 2013 will be difficult for Hamilton. But 2014 could be a different story with the new engine formula.
If the FIA allows the new turbo engines to evolve and the engine freeze to end, then driving for a factory team would be ideal. It would make sense for Mercedes to keep the latest engine for themselves and the customer teams to get the older spec lumps.

I would think McLaren would gamble on generating their own engines for 2014 and beyond - everyone is starting from scratch so they have a reasonable chance at succeeding. If they are serious at becoming a sports car company, it's the only way to go.
For sponsorship, I could easily see TelMex step up their budgets for McLaren given how much more exposure they would get. Not sure how Vodafone shakes out in this shuffle.

The epic ness of this move is astounding... As my co-brain in F1 Bull**** Jsmyle stated earlier... Look who Hams is gonna have around him as groomers? Lauda, Brawn & MS vs Whitmarsh? WTF was he doing? After RD left, to Hams chagrin...didn't we all profess the building tensions with Whitmarsh? He's a business man, not a drivers Principal.... Good riddance I hated Whitmarshs guts, as aerospace is vastly different than F1.
I think is the freedom, yet necessary craftmanship guidance he needs...

Interesting blog post by Will Buxton. He mentions the point about TelMex which I find interesting. I didn't know that Vodafone might be going away.

He also feels that Perez might not be the best driver for the seat. I think it is too soon to tell.

I vote that Hamilton says he wishes he was still at McLaren before the 2013 season is over.

enjoyed the will buxton read. thanks.
personally i feel hamilton was convinced in the thought of having his name a big brand. he forgot about racing and winning at the moment of signing. he has enough to retire ten times over living extrememly large as it is. his woman probably made him sign.
the reason to leave a competitive team who is always in the top 2 to go and play pretend build up is stupid. if he had by this point won three or four titles fine. i understand the idea of creating something, but with no testing and not being a michael schumacher i just do not see it happening for him and he will slowly fade off....
sure mclaren has not won may titles as of late and lewis' title was just down to luck, but the team is not only at fault he clearly made many many errors which messed up his chances with his personal problems.
it is a perfect example of too much at a young age and not understanding enough to harness it.
well at least he can make a rap album in german for mercedes records. the germans buy evrything.![]()

Some are calling him one of the greatest driver ever. But here's his championship record so far by season: 2, 1, 5, 4, 5, 4. Am I missing something?

This could be funny. Too bad Button won't respond.

Lewis just keeps turing into a bigger and bigger dork each day.
I can't believe he tweeted that. And then blah blah blah about driving hard right up to the last race.
I can't wait for him to disappear forever at Mercedes next year.

Not sure what's going on here, but too bad. I'm starting to feel bad for the guy. Not sure that he deserves that, but it even seems uncharacteristic of Button. He gets along with everyone.

Oh man, this just keeps getting better and better. He just tweeted this:
"My bad, just found out Jenson never followed me. Don't blame him! Need to be on Twitter more!"
Hamilton is a disaster. Love that Jenson never followed him.

The guy needs to start talking things up a bit...well, A LOT. He knows he's going to a crappy team, relatively speaking, that has had the resources and people in place for well over a year now and still can't move up the grid. Hammie's going to need a truck full of magic dust to turn that team around in short order.

considering mercedes will be an engine supplier for 2014 i think that actually put him in a good
position.
mclaren has not been performing well the past 3/4 years.
oh and lets not forget he will be around (schumacher, Lauda and brawn).
You're right though sounds like he's going to a crappy team.![]()
