Girl needs pickup

Searched other threads, didn't find anything directly on point. I'm going to school in Chicago for 2 more years and I need a beater for that time (which I'll sell at the end). I wanted to buy a pickup so I can move for free(ish) and because I like them. Two questions:

1) Is there any reason to buy from a dealership rather than a private seller? As I see it, the dealer probably isn't going to warranty or certify a 70k+ miles truck right? Is there any advantage to buying from a dealer?

2) Would it be smarter just to lease a pickup for two years? It might be more expensive but if the maintenance on the beater is going to cost me $1k+/year, it makes sense right? Or am I over-estimating the maintenance problems...
