I was in the middle lane of the service road of a local highway the other morning. Light was red. I was in the middle lane that was a left turn / straight option. There was a lady in a brand new Toyota Tacoma pickup truck in the left lane that is left turn only option. Light turns green, start to make a left turn underneath the tollway... BAM! Lady in the truck went straight into my car. She never turned. Car spun 180 degrees. Lady admitted 100% fault to her insurance, which is good considering I have a Dash-Cam that caught it all on video in case she was to dispute the claim. Can't wait to see what rental car I get. Check out the vid...

Sucks so hard broThat part of the car can't just be unbolted and bolted back in, unfortunately. They'll either have to skin it or try and pull it out. Hate all the idiot Dallas drivers

I am using the Smarty Blackbox BX1500 camera. It has been one of the best purchases to this day. I agree Tbomb that it sucks, but it always could be worse.... injury, uninsured motorist, hit and run, etc. I am thankful i had the camera and that she admitted no wrong. Makes it a lot easier that way.

What up with the music?

it would only be considered to pay off if the lady denied it was her fault or ran off, and your video turns the case in your favor.

LOL,
I am getting that response quite a bit.
It is the Tron Legacy soundtrack. For anyone who has not seen the movie or heard the soundtrack, it is flippin awesome. It was composed by Daft Punk. You heard a small part of a slow song and the recording for audio is not that great.

glad you're alright!
my brother and I are looking into (and have been looking into) a dash cam due to some crazy shenanigans we always witness. we are thinking of ordering some that are a lot cheaper than the one you bought, but have amazing video quality and don't show speed
the only thing I don't like about your dash cam is that it displays the speed...

Actually, my camera has many options with the software that comes with it.
My camera has the GPS, so it will work with Google Maps.
When you want to save the video, such as the one I posted, you can save any length of it. You can fully edit the length. In other words, the video you see is actually a 2 min video, edited down to just the part I want to save.
When you hit the save button once you have selected the length of the video, you have the option to leave on or turn off the GPS info, speed, audio, etc. Check out the pic of the interface....
Hope this helps. Good luck with your purchase. It was a great investment.

glad you're okay, and also that you're not totally pissed at the situation as yes, it could have been worse.
do you have pics of how your dash cam was mounted/set up?
been thinking about getting one of these as well. how did you choose yours, vs the other options out there. there's a blackvue one that looks pretty good as well.

Fixed for you in bold, italicized, and underlined in case you missed it.I swear, Texas has the worst drivers no matter what city (of the states I have lived in). That includes growing up in SoCal and driving around San Diego and L.A. Anyway to the OP, that is disappointing, but at least you're not injured and your car can be fixed.
